What is Labregister and how can it support my inventory management?
Labregister is an inventory management system that enables laboratories to organize equipment, laboratory supplies and even your own digital documents (manuals, guidelines, SOPs, etc.) in one place. You can set up custom categories in which your data is structured in a table-like format, making it easy to search and retrieve information rapidly. Additionally, you have the possibility to attach files of any format to your items as well as create parent and child relationships between different items. Another major advantage is its connection to the ELN Labfolder, facilitating the referencing of items from Labregister directly in your laboratory notes.
How is data organized in Labregister?
In Labregister, you can set up an unlimited number of categories according to your laboratory’s requirements. Within each category, you can define specific attributes that help to structure the information about your items. Each item will be automatically given an Item-ID that can also be used to create unique barcodes for the labeling of samples or equipment. To add even more detailed information to your database, you can attach files of any format to your items.
Can I transfer existing inventory and sample lists to Labregister?
Yes and it’s easy! With Labregister, you can effortlessly import Excel files containing your existing inventory or sample lists. Once uploaded to a category, you can view, edit, share or export the data.
How does Labregister guarantee data security and privacy?
Data security and privacy is our top priority. You remain the sole owner of your data, which is only accessible by you unless you choose to grant access to others. All data is securely encrypted with SSL (256-bit), and Labforward’s servers are based in Germany, ensuring compliance with EU and German privacy laws. To further protect your information, we perform backups on a daily basis, retaining your data for up to 30 days. Labforward does not have access to your data unless you explicitly grant this access. If you decide to terminate your account, all your data will be permanently deleted once you confirm the export of your information. These measures ensure the highest level of security for your sensitive research data.
How do Labregister and the ELN Labfolder complement each other?
The integration of Labfolder and Labregister enables seamless linking of materials and equipment to experimental procedures and protocols within the ELN. Many laboratories store this information separately, making it harder to find information quickly and increasing the risk of losing important details about the exact supplies or equipment used in a given experiment. Labregister’s referencing feature makes information easily accessible and highly interconnected. At the present time, Labregister is not available as a standalone product; instead, it comes included—at no extra cost—with both the Labfolder Basic and Advanced Editions.
How do I get started with Labregister?
